Join the Osnaburg Historical Society on Monday, Nov. 10, to hear Jim Cassler from the Ohio Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor talk about the historic highway that travels through East Canton and Osnaburg Township.

The trustees of Osnaburg Township discussed saving the historical section of Cindell Street, which is the old Lincoln Highway.

There is a never-ending list of charitable functions in town that business owners are asked to sponsor and the general public to attend. Our last car show, Lincoln Highway Car Show on Sept. 6 at Haydocy Chevrolet-Buick, was one such event.

Al Forte of Brooklyn, NY is walking from Yankee Stadium to Wrigley Field in Chicago for his “Pray for Peace” campaign, handing out small prayer cards with a picture of soldiers praying together. His walk took him along the Lincoln Highway in Lima, Ohio.

Delphos, Ohio holds an annual end-of-summer festival called Canal Days. For this year’s Canal Days parade, the grand marshals were the trustees of the Canal Commission Museum, which features an exhibit on the Lincoln Highway in Ohio.

The trustees of Osnaburg Township, Ohio, discussed what to do with a historic brick section of the Lincoln Highway, which is in serious need of repair.

With 350 yard sale events in its first year in 2005, the [Lincoln Highway Buy-Way] had 750 sales last year in Ohio and Indiana. This year, residents of Illinois will also join in the buy-way.

One of the very rare times that it has happened, the Lincoln Highway Buy-Way yard sale and the U.S. 127 Corridor Sale will be taking place on the same weekend this year and Van Wert is the only place in the country where these two sales intersect.

The Friends of the Bucyrus Public Library in Bucyrus, Ohio sponsored a book sale, bake sale and treasure sale in conjunction with the Lincoln Highway Garage Sale.
