Ninety-five years after an association was formed to support construction of a transcontinental, paved highway, and 85 years after that highway’s "Ideal Section" was built in Northwest Indiana, Old Lincoln Highway still attracts the curiosity of history-minded residents along its route.
Art Schweitzer, a local historian from Schererville, has led research into the local stretch of the highway.

The ashes of Robert Russin, the sculptor of the Lincoln statue along I-80 in Wyoming, and his wife were interred near the statue.

The 16th annual Lincoln Highway Conference, "Rails – Trails & Highway Tales," was held in June in Evanston, Wyo. Iowa Lincoln Highway Association members from Jefferson, Cedar Rapids, Vinton, Earling, Woodbine and Ames attended.

A contractor is salvaging historic artifacts from the remains of the Hollow Tavern in Unity, Pennsylvania, destroyed in a fire. The tavern will be rebuilt to its 1939 construction appearance.

The Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) will travel the Lincoln Highway between the Iowa towns of Lisbon and Mount Vernon on Friday, July 25.

The Hazen Market Store, which was originally along the Lincoln Highway, closed down after the widening of US 50A reduced access to the store.

Bob Chase and Bernard "Buddy" Rosenbaum have finished their cross-country trip across the Lincoln Highway on their Piaggio MP3 scooters. One of their goals was to raise awareness for the Lincoln Highway.
