The Lincoln Highway in
Indiana

The plan for this transcontinental road was unveiled in 1912 at a banquet in Indianapolis for auto manufacturers. The original route now has a hodgepodge of different numbers.

To drive on the original route from the east, enter the state on U.S. 30 westbound. At the U.S. 30/I-469/IN 930 interchange, continue west on IN 930.

Where IN 930 leaves Washington Blvd. in Fort Wayne, continue west on Washington Blvd. (Take Jefferson Blvd. when driving in the reverse direction.)

Turn north onto U.S. 27 in downtown Fort Wayne.

Turn west onto IN 930. At the IN 930/I-69/US 33 interchange, continue northwest on US 33.

Turn west onto La Salle St. in downtown South Bend.

In two blocks, turn northwest onto Lincolnway.

Continue west on U.S. 20 after crossing the U.S. 31 bypass.

At the intersection of U.S. 20 and IN 2 near Rolling Prairie, continue straight (southwest) onto IN 2.

Turn west onto U.S. 30 in Valparaiso. Drive along the nationally significant Ideal Section of the Lincoln Highway in Dyer.
