The First Annual

Many artists and photographers have been inspired by the diverse locations, history and stories of the Lincoln Highway to create original works of art. Many members are already familiar with highway-themed folk art of Dianna Swartz of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, as well as the numerous works by Kevin Kutz and other artists featured in the exhibition "Along the Lincoln Highway," hosted in 2004 by the Westmoreland Museum of American Art in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
We're sure many works of highway-inspired art and photography wait to be discovered, and the Lincoln Highway Art & Photo Show has been created to help us do just that. This exhibition is a chance for artists to share their work with Conference-goers who also understand the highway's appeal, and to meet other Lincoln Highway artists and photographers as well.
This inaugural show is only an exhibition. This first year, we are not offering prizes or judging entries, but instead will simply present the art and photography for the enjoyment of the Conference attendees. (If we have sufficient entries and interest, we may offer judging and prizes as part of a similar show in 2009.) Each participant will receive a Certificate of Appreciation from the Association in gratitude for his or her efforts.

The Fine Print
Delivering Items: most artists and photographers will be delivering their items in person to the Conference. If you will not be attending the Conference, but would like your work to be included anyway, please indicate this on your application. We will make arrangements for shipping, or perhaps having your work "car pool" with someone attending the Conference.
Insurance: since this is an informal exhibition, artists and photographers are individually responsible for insuring their works as may be appropriate. The Lincoln Highway Association will make every effort to keep all works submitted free from damage, but assumes no liability should unforeseen accidents occur. (Items will be displayed on easels in the main Conference area in plain sight, and adjacent to other items of value.)
Sales: artists and photographers are welcome to include prices and sale contact information as part of the descriptions for their work. Any sales will be arranged between the artists/photographers and customers individually; the Lincoln Highway Association will collect no fees related to these sales, and will not be involved in any way in these transactions, either as paid agent or as creditor.
