Lincoln Highway Western State District Consul (1924): E.B. Wilson.
"Greene County will be the first in the state to accept federal aid for paving country roads through the action of the progressive board of supervisors in the county in meeting the conditions necessary to serve this government money. Ten miles of roads will be paved in that county without a cent of expense from the public treasury. the road to be paved consists of four miles adjoining Jefferson on the east part of the county, the Lincoln Highway from the western limits of the city to Danger Hill, which is also part of the Lincoln Highway two miles west of Jefferson. These sections have been graded and surfaced and are ready for paving."
