The Page Apartments building has been a Mechanicsville and Lincoln Highway
landmark since the 1800s when it was called the Page Hotel.

The Page Apartments big picture. Note that at some time - probably the
architecturally suspect 1960s - the original windows on the first floor were replaced with
contemporary "treatments." The darker brick outlines where the lintels
once were.

Some "ghost advertising" on old brick walls. Lots of nice brick
buildings still line the streets of this town.

"Unwrapping our cases from the muddy covering and leaving the auto housed in the stable for the night, we made for the Page Hotel [now Page Apartments]. We ate supper in the City Restaurant with some country lads sitting at a couple of nearby tables. Over in one corner stood an ancient-vintage piano. The sight of four women gave the proprietor the inspiration and courage to ask one of us to play it. I could imagine what its tone would be, but I felt the urge to relieve the tension of the day's driving, so I casually tossed off a couple of light numbers."
